The Story Behind Danesh
My grandfather was an inventor in Iran who created educational alphabet cookies—each designed with a letter on one side and a corresponding image to help children learn. His invention received a patent that was described in the contemporary press as Iran’s first patent, and his work was recognized by Reza Shah Pahlavi, who bestowed upon him the title “Danesh.”
A love of Travel, Passed Down
The name continued with my father, who became known as “Mr. Danesh” in Tehran's bazaar. He also passed something else on to me: a curiosity about the world and a love of travel.
Today, Danesh Travel Society carries that spirit forward — bringing together my love of travel, discovery and connection through thoughtfully designed journeys for women.
